Turkey helps renovate lecture hall for Sarajevo University

SARAJEVO, Dec. 6 — Bakir Izetbegovic, member of Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), on Friday attended a ceremony over reopening a lecture hall of Sarajevo University renovated by the Turkish government.
The Lecture Hall of the Faculty of Political Sciences, a famous building in Sarajevo, was seriously damaged during the war in 1990s.
Izetbegovic thanked Turkey for the financial support to reopen the hall, now renamed “Istanbul-Sarajevo” hall. He noted BiH needs financial help from other countries to rebuild facilities damaged during the war.
The Turkish government, keen to expand its cooperation with BiH, has restored or built some 130 facilities in BiH during the past three years, including mosques and education centers, local media reported.
Sarajevo University, originally established in 1531 as an Ottoman Islamic law college, is the largest and oldest university in BiH.[db:内容2]
