CANNES, France, May 26 — The Mexican drama “Despues p Lucia” has won the very best prize from the 65th Cannes film festival’s new talent section, or even the “Not Certain Regard”, because the world’s top movie showcase is placed to shut on Sunday.
The jury from the new talent section, chaired by British actor and director Tim Roth, made the option from 20 films and revealed it in a ceremony on Saturday evening.
“This was a extremely strong number of films and our deliberations were passionate. The filmmakers never once unsuccessful us! Incredible!” stated Roth.
Directed by Michel Franco, the film includes a youthful lady and her father who move to a different town and then leave their old lives far behind.
Suzanne Clement and Emile Dequenne were both granted because the section’s best actress, for his or her roles correspondingly in “Laurence Always” and “A Perdre La Raison”.
The special jury prize visited Le Grand Soir directed by Benoit Delepine and Gustave Kervern, while Aida Begic’s Djeca was named because the special distinction towards the jury.
Other people within the jury include Leila Bekhti, Sylvie Pras, Tonie Marshall and Luciano Monteagudo.
The brand new talent section was released in 1978 by Gilles Jacob in the festival, targeted at encouraging youthful and unskilled company directors.
