Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Beijing Fly to Lanzhou (L)

Welcome to Lanzhou! You will take a morning flight to Lanzhou from Beijing. Upon your arrival, be picked up from airport and transfer back to hotel for rest. After short break, you will pay a visit to White Pagoda Mountain Park. Located on the north bank of the Yellow River with a white pagoda temple on its height, it is a large, quiet area for strolling. The pagoda is structured in 7 terraces with an octagonal body and 17-meter in height. Golden City Pass and Jade Folding Pass are at the foot of the Hill. After the whole day tour, you will be escorted to your hotel.

Day 2: Lanzhou-Binglingsi Grottoes-Lanzhou (B,L)

Your tour guide will  pick you up from your hotel, and start a full day excursion to the Binglingsi Grottoes. Located on the north bank of the Yellow River, Binglingsi Grottoes is one of the six famous Buddhist Caves started by some Buddhist monks from as early as the year of 265-316. After many years' work, there are 183 caves with 694 stone statues, 82 earth statues and 900 square meters murals existing. After experience the gem of Chinese history and culture, be transferred back to your hotel.

Binglingsi Grottoes

Day 3: Lanzhou –Xining (B, L)

You will take train to Xining city (the capital of Qinghai Province). Upon your arrival, you will firstly visit Kumbum Monastery. The Kumbum Monastery, built in 1577, is located 30km away from Xining and it is one of the most important Yellow Hat sect monasteries of the world. You will have an authentic glimpse of the Tibetan Buddhist religious tradition. Then check in your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Xining-Huangnan (B, L)

Today you will transfer to Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (in the southeast region of Qinghai Province). Pay a visit to Guomeri Buddhist Pagoda, one of the birthplaces of Regong art, and Wutn Temple. Then you will visit a local family and experience what their life is like. Learn to draw Thangka from the host.

After the tour, overnight in the hotel in Huangnan.

Day 5: Huangnan-Qinghai Lake (B, L, D)

After breakfast, drive about 150km to Qinghai Lake to enjoy the largest inland salt lake in China. Its voluminous and misty scenery likes a tear on the surface of the earth. Along the way, you will also pay a visit to Tibet local family, Sun and Moon Mountain, Daotang River, and Qinghai Lake. After the sightseeing, enjoy campfire party at night.

After the tour, overnight in the hotel in Huangnan.

Day 6: Huangnan-Xining-Beijing (B)

Today you will firstly transfer to Xining city , and then transfer to airport to Beijing.
