At this time, people will try to solve the puzzles on the lanterns and eat yuanxiao (glutinous rice ball) and get all their families united in the joyful atmosphere. This tour will take you to explore the real experience of Chinese Lantern Festival.

Tour Itinerary

The Lantern Festival is a traditional festival celebrated by Chinese on the 15th of the first lunar month after the Spring Festival. Eating the festival foods (Yuanxiao, ball-like and sticky) and enjoy the lantern display are the most important thing.

The Ice Lantern Display first appeared on hundred years ago to mark the Lantern Festival in the northern provinces of China. So today, you will have a chance to enjoy the ice lantern in Beijing.

In the morning, it will be a little bit challenge for you as you will be transferred to the Badaling Great Wall. It may windy in winter, especially on the Great Wall due to its high altitude. But in winter, Badaling Great Wall takes on another charm, especially after the snowfall. It wriggles its way like a silver dragon. The plants and hill are covered with silver clothes. Even without snow, the grand system of the Great Wall plus blue sky and white clouds must attract you.

Today you will stay at Yanqing County. In the evening, you will be transferred to Longqing Gorge to enjoy the ice sculptures and carvings during the Longqingxia Ice Lantern Festival. In the past over 20 years, it has been held each year. Over 400 ice sculptures made by both Chinese and foreign artists are exhibited there.
