Chinese businesswoman’s liquor collection sets Guinness record

CHANGCHUN, Oct. 16 — A Chinese businesswoman has set a Guinness World Record for collecting 5,759 kinds of baijiu, or “white spirit,” a Chinese sorghum-based liquor.
The collection amassed by Ning Fenglian, the CEO of liquor dealer Baishan Fangda Group Co. Ltd., includes world-famous liquor worth millions of yuan and common varieties typically sold for only one or two yuan.
The record was certificated on Wednesday by Wu Xiaohong, an inspector with the London base of the Guinness World Records organization.
According to Ning, by applying to Guinness World Records, she wanted to raise awareness of baijiu and preserve its culture.[db:内容2]
