The China Millennium Monument locally known as Zhonghua Shijitan was constructed to celebrate the arrival of the 21st Century. A total area of 4.5 hectare and building area of 44,000 square meters gives visitors the chance to explore the sundial-shaped Main Altar, the Sacred Fire Square, and Bronze Path or appreciate the superb relief sculpture symbolizing the Chinas 56 ethnic groups.

In the eyes of many, China Millennium Monument itself is invoked as an example of exhibitions. Inside the building is the Beijing World Art Museum which specializes in collecting, exhibiting and researching in both ancient and modern arts of Chinese and the world.
