Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Beijing Arrival
Welcome to Beijing, the capital of China, rich in history and culture.
Your lifetime China tour begins with welcome from your local guide at the Beijing airport. Then be escorted to your hotel in a private vehicle. The rest of today is yours to acclimatize or explore the vast metropolis on your own.
Day 2 Beijing ( B, L )
Today's tour begins to visit the Tiananmen Square, the world's largest plaza. Walking through Tiananmen Gate, you'll enter the splendid Forbidden City, China's No.1 palace complex adorned with imperial treasures.
In the afternoon, you'll marvel at the Temple of Heaven where the emperors worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest.
After the tour, back to your hotel.
Day 3 Beijing ( B, L )
This morning tour will take you to size up the world-famous Great Wall (Badaling section), the key symbol of China. Flexible visiting time allows you to enjoy a lifetime trekking trip (1-2 hours' hiking), or witness the breathtaking views of this man-made wonder by taking a cable car.
After the Wall visit, you'll take a leisurely stroll along the tranquil Sacred Road to explore the Ding Tomb of Ming Imperial Tombs.
Feel tired after a whole day tour? You're offered with a free foot massage. In the evening, try the flavorful dish of Peking Roast Duck Dinner. (Optional)
Day 4 Beijing – Datong by Train No.K615 (15:40-21:45) ( B, L )
Today, your first stop is the charming Beihai Park, then take a lifetime rickshaw tour the ancient alleyway of Hutongs that are still keeping the original layout in the Shichahai area. You’ll stop by a Siheyuan local family and experience what their life is like. Lunch will be arranged at your local family, and you can learn to cook some Chinese dumplings if you like.
Then you’ll be escorted to the Beijing West Train Station, and take a train to Datong. Upon arrival at around 21:45, be met and transferred to your hotel in Datong by your local guide.
Day 5 Datong ( B, L )
Your first stop is the Yungang Grottoes. These grottoes are the main reason that people make a trip to Datong. The grottoes hold over 50,000 Buddihist statues and stretch for about 1 km east to west.
Later, drive to visit the Hanging Temple, hanging on the west cliff of a hill with over 50 meters above the ground, including Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Then move on to the Yinxian County to visit the Wooden Pagoda, the oldest wooden Buddhist pagoda in existence in China.
After the tour, transferred back to your hotel in Datong.
Day 6 Datong - Pingyao by train No.K7807 (07:45 - 14:39) ( B )
After breakfast, transferred to Datong Railway Station and take train No.K7807 (07:45 - 14:39) for Pingyao. Arriving at Pingyao, met by your local tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Pingyao. The rest of the day is free for you to relax.
Day 7 Pingyao – Xian by train No. 2669 ( B, L )
Your Pingyao tour starts to visit the Ancient City Wall. The city of Pingyao is one of the four remaining well-preserved ancient cities in China.
Later, go to visit the Armed Escort Company Museum, followed by a stop in the Rishengchang Exchange Shop, the earliest bank in China.
After dinner, be escorted to Pingyao Train Station and take overnight train No. 2669(23:14-07:46) for Xian. 4-bed cabin.
Day 8 Xian ( L )
Your train will arrive in Xian at 07:46, and you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel in Xian. After a little rest and refresh up with a early lunch, head to visit the Great Mosque, a tranquil and historic mosque that has served Xian’s Muslim community for more than a millennium. By the way, you’ll stop by the Muslim Community.
Then head to the age-old Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of the old-line Xian, a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists.
Day 9 Xian ( B, L )
Today your first stop is to join the ranks of the incredible Terracotta Warriors, the forbidding sentinels of a death defying emperor, starting out through the silent millennia of history.
In the afternoon, visit the Ancient City Walls, the largest and best-kept city walls on earth. Strolling and cycling on the Walls is quite an enjoyable experience. Today’s tour ends to visit the Bell Tower, a famous landmark of Xian ancient city.
After the tour, be escorted to the airport and take a flight to your next destination or back to your home.
