Sample Itinerary Overview

Day 1 Beijing Arrival

Welcome to Beijing! Upon your arrival at Beijing international airport, our guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. After check in and having a short rest, you will marvel at the splendid Summer Palace, the former royal garden, it is the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden. After the tour, you will be driven back to your hotel.

Day 2 Beijing ( B,L )

Today our tour guide will meet you and pick you up from your hotel around 8:00 am. Then drive to less crowded Mutianyu Great Wall(80km away from Beijing downtown).
After hiking on the Mutianyu Great Wall for about 1 or 2 hours then move on to the Ming Tombs (Changling or Dingling) and its Sacred Way.
On the way back, you may make a stop at the Beijing Olympic Village to take some pictures of the world-famed “Birds Nest” and the “Water Cube” from the outside. Later you will be taken to Beijing Liyuan Theatre to enjoy the Beijing Opera.

Day 3 Beijing ( B,L )

After breakfast today, picked up and head to the Chuandixia village. Only 60 km away from Beijing, it is a picturesque mountain village, known for its well preserved 500 Ming and Qing dynasty-style courtyard houses owned by 70 families, ancient but unsophisticated, just like another ‘Shangri-la’.
We will visit one or two local families, visiting their houses and making dumplings with the family and enjoy the local house-hold lunch. Then head to visit the temple of the village and listen to the old stories told by the aged people. Afterwards, go to hike the mountains nearby and take the beautiful pictures of the mountain village. Afterwards transfer back to your hotel in Beijing.

Day 4 Beijing ( B,L )

Today our guide will pick you up at your hotel around 8:00 a.m. Firstly you will visit Tiananmen Square. Subsequently you will move on to the Forbidden City, the most complete imperial palace in China. After having Chinese lunch, you’ll visit the Temple of Heaven — the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world where the ancient Emperors prayed for peace and harvest. Transfer back to hotel, the rest of evening is free of leisure on your own.

Day 5 Beijing-Xiamen ( B,L )

Get up early today and transfer to airport to your early morning flight from Beijing to Xiamen (about a 2.5 hour flight).
Upon arrival at Xiamen airport, be met by our local private English-speaking guide (She/he will hold a sign with your name written on it in the terminal lobby) & driver. You will visit South Putuo Temple. This imposing multi-layered structure that overlooks the sea was first built during the Tang Dynasty more than 1,000 years ago. Afterwards, drive to a teahouse and enjoy a traditional tea ceremony. Proceed to visit Huli Fortress, which houses the biggest and oldest Cannon in the world. Enjoy Xiamen Seafood Cuisine for lunch. Then transfer back to your hotel, the rest of the day is free at your leisure.

Day 6 Xiamen – Nanjing Earth Buildings-Xiamen ( B,L )

Hotel pick-up after breakfast. Start a full day excursion to Nanjing (2.5 hours drive) where you will visit the Hakka Earth Buildings. On arrival, visit Taxia Village and get an insider view of the local countryside and a local farmer’s life. Have lunch in a local restaurant. Go on to visit Tianluokeng Building and Dongdaoxiwai Building. After a whole day of sightseeing, transfer back to Xiamen.

Day 7 Xiamen-Gulangyu-Xiamen departure ( B,L )

Your guide will pick you up after breakfast then drive to the ferry station where you will take a ferry to Gulangyu Isle. After a five-minute ferry ride, arrive at Gulangyu for a unique guided tour. Take a golf cart to visit Shuzhuang Garden and enjoy the terrain and the sea, which were perfectly incorporated into the layout of the entire garden. See the Nine-Bend Forty-Four Bridge, which is delicately poised above the sea and consists of Duyue Pavilion (Watching Moon Pavilion), Qianbo Pavilion (Thousand-Wave Pavilion), and interesting rockwork. Also, you can learn about many kinds of famous pianos in the Piano Museum, the only piano museum in China.
Enjoy Xiamen traditional snacks for lunch. After lunch, transfer to Xiamen airport for your flight to the next destination.
